According to the Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the events unfolded early in the morning on December 31st, when the body of the 25-year-old man was discovered in a nearby bush in Lafiagi Dzwafu village, Katcha.

The investigation revealed that there had been a confrontation between Baba Aliyu and his wife, Fatima Dzuma, aged 27. Fatima reported that the argument turned physical, with her husband beating her during the dispute. Following the altercation, Fatima waited until Baba Aliyu fell asleep and then struck him on the head with a pestle, which ultimately led to his death.

The Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed an alarming incident that occurred in Kakuza Village, Mariga Local Government Area. According to the report, on December 27 of last year, authorities received a complaint regarding a threatening letter found by a farmer on his property. 

The farmer discovered the letter on December 24, 2025, at approximately 8 am, when he arrived at his farm. The letter, which was attached to the harvested guinea corn, demanded a ransom of nine million, five hundred thousand naira (#9.5m) for the farmer to be allowed to evacuate his crops.

The letter also included a phone number, indicating that failure to comply with the demand could result in the farmer being kidnapped. 

The police are currently investigating the matter to ensure the safety of the farmer and to apprehend those responsible for the threat.

The situation involves Aminu Amale, a 45-year-old from Shadadi village, who was arrested after confessing to a crime during interrogation. He stated that his actions were motivated by personal financial challenges.
